Dancing with Yin & Yang

This workshop proposes to investigate in movement the notion of «energy», by spotting out it’s flowing presence in the body and by looking at how we can consciously use it in our dance.
An invitation to explore this flow through the different forces and qualities suggested by the Yin/Yang representation.
A suggestion to voyage with tides and cycles, using contact-improvisation as a playful framework to dance and relate.

These words as an invitation to dance and be danced:

«Polar and seemingly contrary forces, Yin and Yang are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world and give rise to each other in turn.

Bound together as parts of a mutual whole, Yin and Yang transform each other like an undertow in the ocean. Every advance is completed by a retreat and every rise transforms into a fall.

Yin and Yang arise together from an initial quiescence and continue moving in tandem until quiescence is reached again.»
